1. Portion Control
As you probably know by now, we don’t push calorie counting at Bariform. However, we never said that it wasn’t important! We absolutely believe that the quality of your food is far more important than the quantity. But once we fix the quality issue, the next most important variable is the quantity. Meal replacements are a fantastic way to take the “thinking” out of your weight loss journey by controlling your portion size.
2. Adequate Protein
One of the main struggles for individuals during active weight loss has historically been consuming enough protein to support lean mass preservation while at the same time you’re asking your body to burn fat. I mean, you can only eat so much chicken, right? Meal replacements with adequate protein help take all the work out of it!
3. Craving Control
As we’ve discussed elsewhere, controlling cravings can sometimes be one of the most challenging of your efforts during active weight loss. A good meal replacement will have both very low net carbohydrates (total carbs - fiber), which will help control blood sugar levels and subsequently keep the effects of insulin at bay -- and will have enough protein to keep hunger well controlled.
Let’s be honest, is there one single variable that has a greater impact on us achieving our goals in life? If there are, there aren’t many… Simply put, having the convenience of instant success for meals is huge. Game changer. For most, if not all, having a go-to meal replacement is critical in order to win at weight loss -- especially in those times of travel, inconsistent work schedule, and life just getting too busy.
